Friday Favorites This Week

Happy Friday! No fashion round-up this week. Today I thought it would be fun to do a little post sharing some of my favorite things at the moment, and a few favorite moments from the past week!

First up – Brooks and I in the ball pit! I can’t believe this little man will be 3 next weekend! He’s turned into the sweetest, silliest, most sensitive, fun-loving little boy right before my eyes. Can’t wait to celebrate him!

Another thing I’m currently loving is my Apple Watch. I got this bad boy for Christmas and I’m obsessed. It’s amazing, pretty much the best thing ever and I love it. Let me know if you would want to check out a post about it, I’d be happy to write one. This was one of those things that I would never buy myself but when my parents asked what I wanted for Christmas, I figured why not throw it on the list and see what happens. Apparently I was a really good girl this year and I’m so happy I got this because it’s so useful and I love it.

Got this new strap for it this week and it makes me feel fancy.

I plan on doing a full LipSense post next week to introduce it on the blog, but I received my first shipment for orders in this week and I’m obsessed. This is cranberry and it’s the most amazing red. But if you have any questions beforehand or want to know what other colors I have, send me a message – andherlittledogtoo@gmail.com or join the Lips + Style Facebook Group!

Another favorite this week includes my new jewels from the Spring 2017 collection and this bottle of rosé I got for my birthday that is calling my name. I’m loving this mild winter weather and it’s totally calling for a little Fri-Yay cheers!

And speaking of the new Spring 2017 collection, my Stella & Dot jewels are overflowing & it’s time for me to get rid of some of my samples! All items are still in new condition & will be greatly discounted! Join my Lips + Style FB page for the link to shop the pieces at a great price!

And I think my MOST FAVORITE thing this week would hands down, have to be my new Love Bug Notes. My sweet reader friend, Ashley contacted me to check out her personalized stationary and notepads for kids, moms, and teachers made in Alexandria, Virginia {right by my old hometown!} ! I was immediately blown away by the quality of these pieces and how well-made and beautiful they are.

Check out these gorgeous note pads:

Seriously, I love technology and all that, but how awesome is it to receive a nice, thoughtful handwritten note?! I love the feeling when I sent a nice note and I know it feels good to receive a handwritten letter – way more personal than a text! How amazing are these note pads ? I LOVEEEE the ‘ a note from Brooks or Graham’ and then I have to put a X through which little I am writing about. So sweet!

Brooks even got his own special set of note pads.

And so did Graham

We got note pads and even a few note cards to try out – I love them all so much!

I honestly can’t say enough good things about Love Bug Notes – so well done, great quality and affordable! Ashley sells the 3 pack of notepads in the trio of sizes for $18!  And her personalized cards and paper starts at $6! How awesome is that?! Such a sweet gift for a new mom or even a little ones birthday when you don’t want to buy another toy!  Seriously, so sweet and personal!

And as a little Friday Treat, Ashely at Love Bug Notes is offering 15% off her amazing paper products using promo code littledogtoo from now until valentines day. So stock up on some personalized paper from another hard workin’ mama at Love Bug Notes!

ChapStick® Total Hydration Giveaway

Hello + Happy Thursday!

Yesterday I had a little bit of a technological issue in my life and on my computer, so I apologize for being MIA – I thought it would be fun to make it up to you today with a giveaway!

The new ChapStick® Total Hydration line has been my savior this winter. I don’t know about you, but the second I feel my lips about to get dry, I reach for my ChapStick® and layer it on! And this new hydration line is just that – SUPER Hydrating. I am obsessed. And obviously since you can pick these up at Target, one of my favorite places to shop, it makes them even more amazing.

I love a good balm that leaves your lips a little tingly and feeling fresh, which is exactly what the Cooling Peppermint does, which is my favorite go-to balm. I am also loving the new ChapStick® Total Hydration Moisture + Tint is the first-ever tinted lip balm from ChapStick® – the Total Hydration Moisture + Tint formula is comprised of premium ingredients, including Rosehip Oil, Jojoba Oil and Avocado Butter, and is available in three shades – Rose Petal, Coral Blush and Merlot – so there’s a shade for every occasion.

My other obsession from the  ChapStick® Total Hydration would have to be the Conditioning Lip Scrub. This lip scrub gently exfoliates and conditions leaving lips feeling silky, soft and smooth. – it is formulated with naturally sourced ingredients, including Sugar Crystals, Maracuja and Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin E and features a refreshing Fresh Peppermint flavor. Just massage a small amount onto wet lips in a circular motion then rinse or wipe off with a damp cloth. My lips feel so amazing after this!

Want to try some for yourself? It’s time for a GIVEAWAY!

Up for grabs today is a ChapStick® Total Hydration prize pack AND a $25 Target gift card!

Leave a comment below letting me know what flavor from ChapStick® you can’t wait to try!

One Week on the Jenny Craig Diet

Thank you JennyCraig for sponsoring this post. — Get serious about losing weight with Jenny Craig!

January is a time of New Beginnings. A Fresh Start.

New Goals + Exciting Plans for the year ahead and I already know that 2017 is going to be an amazing year.

For many, a lot of these new beginnings, starts, goals and plans involve fitness and changing eating habits.

I wasn’t initially planning on starting 2017 off with a diet, but when the opportunity came to work with the Jenny Craig program, I couldn’t say no. I definitely had been indulging in food, sweets and the vino a little much over the past holiday season – and all of last year really.

When I got pregnant with Brooks, I was in great shape {seriously, check out my first trimester recap, week 7 looks like a distant memory, forever ago shape!} I kept moving my entire pregnancy, eating healthy and I felt pretty good. After giving birth, the baby weight came off – a little more each month, and nursing totally helped. When I got pregnant with Graham, Brooks was only 11 months old and I was still nursing him. I got pregnant with #2 while still nursing #1 before #1 was even one year old. And a second pregnancy when you have a small toddler is no joke.

Needless to say, with two littles – two and under – over the past year I haven’t had much time to myself. Working out has often been last on my to-do list, if it even makes the cut. I have been trying to juggle family, life, the few side-gig’s I have {that I love} and keeping myself feeling good. The boys keep me moving, which is great, but I’ve become very mindless about what I’ve been eating, not to mention some of my pants were getting a little tight, another reason I was excited to try this program.

What is Jenny CraigJenny Craig is a clinically proven and recommended weight-loss program designed to provide structure and support to help members lose weight and learn how to keep it off. The program takes a holistic approach to weight loss and weight management, focusing on food, body and mind.

So with Jenny Craig – I am in the process of doing a two week long program. I finished my first week last night {Sunday} and today is Day 1 of week 2. I was sent 2 weeks worth of food – breakfast, lunch, dinner and 3 snacks throughout the day. That part is amazing because I haven’t had to worry or even think about what I was going to eat all last week. It was all sent to me, perfectly packaged and portioned out – and I have a meal plan for each day, telling me what I was going to eat.

I am on a 1200 calorie program – eating only 1200 calories a day. Which honestly doesn’t sound like much, I was a little nervous about this, but I haven’t been hungry one bit. Each meal comes with 3-2 parts, so I’ve been spreading out each meal over the course of the day.

Example: Breakfast – Turkey Bacon + Egg White Sandwich, 1/2 Fruit, Chocolate Shake

I would have my morning tea first thing, then 30-45 minutes later eat the sandwich, then another tea and an hour or so later, have the shake or the fruit. I usually am not very hungry in the morning, so I try to push off the fruit or shake until the afternoon/evening when I am more in the mood to eat + wanting something sweet. It’s been working really well for me.

The first few days it was hard with the kids – finding time to prep my food or just be able to sit down with my meal and enjoy it without being interrupted {or Graham trying to steal some of my eats} but I’ve got a little system down after a few days and it’s been nice – eating while they are sleeping is my go-to. In the beginning I also felt a little yucky, especially the first day – not sure if I was just loosing the mental game or what – but I was headachy, cranky, tired and had low energy, but I also think that could have been caused by stopping drinking coffee. I have traded in coffee for tea recently {because I can’t have milk in it on this program} and it’s been good – I have a new love for tea and still miss my coffee, but am really more aware of how much milk and sugar and calories in general I would pour into each cup.

I’ve really been focusing on stopping the mindless eating + snacking. I would normally have bites or licks of whatever I am making for the boys. I’m trying not to be a garage disposal, finishing the boys meals + I’ve stopped myself on numerous occasions from licking the peanut butter knife or grabbing a random bite of cheese – and when you stop yourself in your tracks, it feels good. My meals have been sacred the past week and this program has forced me to take the time to sit down and enjoy what I’ve been eating.

And all the food has been incredible. I’ve literally licked each plate clean.

Especially the desserts!

I’ve only been able to try a handful of the more than 100 premium menu items, created by 40 professional chefs. But each meal has been more delicious than the next.

It’s been amazing not to have to think or remember to feed myself. Aside from the salad and any other vegetable snack you want to munch on, I have had all my meals already made for me. And this has been a great excuse for me to also clean out the fridge and the pantry too!

I do love cooking, so that is something that I miss – but really the whole cooking thing during the week had turned into a bit of a rush and a bit of a mess. So it’s nice to take a break from that for a minute too. Sure I’ve still been cooking for the boys, but it’s different than when I would prep something to make for a few days for all 4 of us. And again, I’m using a lot of what we have in the fridge and pantry, since they aren’t too picky!

I’ve also come to love my new healthy snacks. Red peppers, cute-cumbers {the little ones!} and kale chips are my new favorites. It’s been nice to force myself to pack a healthy snack just for me when we are out and about. I even treated myself to a movie with a friend over the weekend for a great week and brought kale chips along incase there were any temptations. It was great to make this healthy change, I hope to continue with it long after the next week is up!

I’ve also been assigned a consultant who checked in on me before the program started, after my first day in and we have a call scheduled for tomorrow. It’s been great to have someone be able to answer my question over a quick phone call or email – makes the whole experience more personable and I think it totally helps keep you accountable when you are on a weight loss journey. At Jenny Craig, they have made personal support the cornerstone of their focus for the past 30 years. Every member is paired with a dedicated consultant who provides them with one-on-one support to identify their challenges and goals, and helps them to create unique weekly meal and activity plans. My consultant has been my go-to when I have any questions on portion control, healthy eating habits and how to combine delicious Jenny Craig Meals and Snacks with Fresh & Free Additions. It’s been great to have someone to chat to about it all!

I’m excited to say that as of this morning I’ve lost about 5 lbs. in the past week from being on the program. Cleaning up my snacking habit and getting my calories in line has been a really great experience – and I feel awesome too!

Results not typical. Members following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs. per week. I received promotional consideration.

I’m excited to take on the next week and see what other changes I can begin to implement in my life and diet! I will keep you posted for sure, please let me know if you have any questions for me about the program or anything I’m doing – I will be sure to answer them in a follow-up post after I finish this next week!

Happy Monday everyone!

Winter Neutrals

Hello and Happy Friday!

A little housekeeping before we get started with todays post – don’t forget to check out the 14+ ways I styled the lularoe Carly + enter my lularoe leggings giveaway to win a pair of your choice!

********************

Grey is my favorite color.

It’s no secret. I love grey EVERYTHING. Don’t get me wrong, I love a floral statement dress or skirt in a fun color – but usually, if I’m drawn to something 90% of the time it’s a neutral and 98% of the time, that neutral is grey.

I love grey because you can do a lot with it – just like most neutrals. You get the most bang for your buck with them in your closet as you can constantly reinvent them with different accessories – or accent pieces. Shoes and jewels are great ways to do just that.

I love neutrals in the winter – it’s {normally} cold and it’s nice to be warm, comfortable and all cozy. But that doesn’t mean you can’t look cute doing it! Here are a few of my favorite winter neutral cozy picks for the week. Check them out and let me know what you think!
