Currently Loving: Friday Favorites

Hello + Happy Friday!

It’s been a crazy week as we have been recovering from last weekend’s fun at Great Wolf Lodge. In fact, I think we had a little bit too much fun because it’s taken all week to get back into the swing of things. Hopefully we can use this weekend where we don’t have anything on the calendar to catch up!

// V-Neck Twist Sweater  / floppy hat  / bralette

Today for Friday Favorites, I thought it would be fun to bring back the favs and share a few things I’m loving lately. You know I love to share good deals and fun styles with you. How cute is this v-neck twist sweater? It’s under $20, comes in a million colors and is so soft. I loved pairing it with a black bra {thats also so comfortable and at a great price!} and with a cool hat.

It’s a super fun piece to add to your closet for those chilly mornings – but its also not the kind of sweater that will make you overheat, which I can’t stand. It’s a great weight and I love the heathered grey {grey is my favorite color!}

What do you think about this look?

Another fun thing going on this week that I’m excited to share with you is that I am exploring the Keto diet. The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. I am currently in day 3 and it’s a diet unlike any other – I’ve been eating all the bacon, butter, meats and cheese! I can’t wait to share with you the results – let me know if you have any specific questions about it!

I picked up this book: Keto Essentials and it’s been amazing at breaking the diet down as well as sharing some amazing recipes. I’ve tried a few and they are fantastic.

Going along with the Keto diet, I had the chance to try out the new Milkadamia this week. Milkadamia is dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and vegan along with non-GMO, cholesterol-free, an excellent source of vitamins D and B12 – not to mention it has 50% more calcium than 2% dairy milk.

It’s milk from macadamia nuts and it’s DELICIOUS!

And macadamia nuts are totally Keto approved, so this was a great product to arrive on my doorstep this week! Yum! If you are looking to switch up your milk, definitely give this a try!

Another favorite thing going on this weekend is there is a HUGE SALE going on on my site! Seriously, it’s amazing! So many of my favorite tops + accessories all freshly marked 50% – so you can get some killer deals!

Like this Sophie print top – I love the floral detail and the see through bell sleeves!

And don’t even get me started on the Callie Fringe necklace. Gold + silver with the perfect amount of movement. Another 50% off piece – but only while supplies last, so if you see something you like in your size, grab it before its gone!

And be sure to shoot me a message, I’ll hook you up with free shipping!

Another little treat that arrived on my doorstep during love week – how amazing do these Sparkling Ice zero calorie waters. Along with some Santa Margherita rosè and Brooklyn crafted ginger beer! I can’t wait to have a little celebration with this over the weekend! I feel like I’ve really made it in the blogging world when cocktails + mixers arrive at my doorstep!

My final favorite are these gorgeous blooms all my boys got me for valentines day.

Love. Thanks boys!

I hope you have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend! If you are in Philly – enjoy this gorgeous weather, before it turns to snow again next week! WaH Wah!

Sharing our Weekend + All the {Kid-Friendly!} Waterslides at the Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Waterpark – Pocono Mountains, PA

This weekend we spent some time at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Pocono Mountains, PA. If you aren’t familiar, Great Wolf is a indoor waterpark facility that has 18 locations in the United States and Canada.

Side Note: We spent a weekend at Kalahari Resort in the Poconos last year, if you want to compare, check out our Day 1 + Day 2 posts for a little flash back!

Here in Pennsylvania, the winters are rough – especially if you have young kids. All my boys want to do is hit up a playground or a park, but its been so cold and wet the past few weeks! But even though its cold + wet, the littles still need to get their energy out!  I was so excited when we had our trip to Great Wolf on the calendar and the boys were too!

I finally had the chance to put my new goPro {thanks Santa!} to the test with some underwater fun this weekend! Check out our video below and see all the fun we had on the slides and in the waterpark and let me know what you think!

And here are some more snaps and details about our weekend away:

Fun Fact: All the kids get cute little wolf ears at check-in – so cute for photo ops!

I posted this photo on Instagram over the weekend and had so many questions about it, I had to share it with you here! A full-coverage crop top + high waisted two piece are both are completely necessary for indoor waterpark, waterslides and basically any sort of water activity with the littles! I can’t recommend either piece enough!

Shop them here: crop top / high waisted bottoms

Two piece action shot – the coverage is on point!

Another swimsuit I recently got and really loved having this weekend was this black ruffle one piece. So comfortable, easy to wear – I’ll be seen in this all summer long, plus it’s under $35!

Also the Boys’ cover-ups are my favorites!

Shop it here: black ruffle one piece

We had a great weekend at Great Wolf!

Let me know if you are planning an indoor water park trip this summer, I’d love to help with any questions you might have!

Here’s what I got in my latest Fix ->

First Up ->  August Mist, Mayson Kimono, $46
This kimono is pure perfection. I love the floral, the pink is so sweet, the contrasting hem detail down the front + around the neck makes it so beautiful – AH!
It’s lightweight, but it has a little bit of warmth to it – I added another pink top {also in this fix – see below} underneath for a little extra layer to it. I also love the length of this kimono – great to layer over denim, black pants {also in this fix!} or would be so beautiful over a little black dress!
Do you love this kimono as much as I do?!
1822 Denim, Demetria Grommet Skinny Jean, $48
About the pants – how cute are these skinny jeans? I am wearing them in every photo in this fix, so you can get a good look at them through the rest of this post, but I had to give them am up close look here because they are beautiful! Everyone needs a solid pair of black jeans in their closet!
PINK CLOVER, Valencia Pullover, $42
This is the pink top underneath the kimono above. I really love the shade of pink, perfect for Valentine’s Day and going into the spring. It’s lighter than a sweatshirt but not too light – easy piece to wear everyday!
Just USA, Tibby Denim Jacket, $68
I’ve been on the hunt for a new denim jacket for a while now. The one I wear all.the.time is a light wash and I’ve had it since high school – yikes! Time for an upgrade, am I right? So I asked my stylist to keep her eyes open for a darker wash denim jacket and I really like this one she sent me!
I love to layer my denim jacket over other fun pieces for a casual look, so I don’t like them too long – so this totally fits the bill! I might need to add this to my closet, what do you think?
Alice Blue, Lakemont Ruffle Neckline Blouse, $44
About this blouse! I love the purple floral print and the fun ruffle neck, its a really sweet piece. Possibly a little too see through for me. Maybe next time I should try it with a nude tank under to see if that makes a difference? It’s a beautiful piece that would be easy to wear out to dinner, brunch or just out and about with a denim jacket, like above.
Too see through? What are your thoughts?
Now I have to decide what to keep!

Now I need your help! I’m going to have a hard time deciding that to keep from this Fix! As always, I love your thoughts and opinions – would love to know your favorite piece {or two} from this Fix!

Take the poll and let me know!

Star Wars Light Saber DIY Birthday Cupcakes

So Brooks and Graham are both currently Star Wars obsessed.

Sure, neither of them have ever seen any of the movies, but they love it all the same.

When I asked Brooks what kind of birthday party he wanted to have for the big F O U R – he immediately said -> STAR WARS!! And then started waving around pretending he was a Jedi flailing his light saber around.

Again, Boys.

Needless to say, his Star Wars 4th Birthday party is underway, happening tomorrow, but we celebrated at school this week with all his friends and of course this mama had to make Star Wars cupcakes become a reality.

I only really consider myself a crafty person when it comes to my kids birthday party festivities, I do like to have a little fun with the occasion and attempt to do something extra special.

Here’s a look back at some of our past birthday parties and crafty favors I created for the boys:

Personalized art smocks {for Brooks’ 2nd birthday} Personalized superhero capes {for Brooks’ 3rd birthday}, DIY Rubber Band Boats {for Graham’s 2nd nautical birthday party} and even personalized massive balls for Graham’s first birthday, which were just super FUN!

Stay tuned to see what’s coming everyone’s way at the party tomorrow!

Today is all about the cupcakes! I wanted to post on the blog incase anyone has a Star Wars obsessed little who needs a some extra inspiration in the treat department!

I wanted to come up with some fun Star Wars cupcakes for Brooks 1) Because he asked for them, nicely and 2) Because why not?!

I made regular cupcakes, straight from the box {aka – the BEST kind, confetti on the inside, duh} and did a little dark side / light side with the icing on top.

PLUS I Brooks asked for all chocolate on top, but I thought adding in a little white would make the “light saber pretzel sticks” pop a bit more. Ya, know – for the ‘gram (and the blog!}

Next – the light sabers!

I love a good salty + sweet combination with the cupcakes and pretzels, plus I thought they would be yummy for the kiddos – I went with green + blue because they are both on the “Good/Light” side in the Star Wars movie – I didn’t want to scar anyone for life with a red light saber, like good ol’ Darth Vader. So I kept it positive!

I took vanilla icing and added some food coloring in separate cups, gave each little pretzel a swirl and let them dry – easy peasy!

Once they were set, I crossed them on top of the cupcakes, right across the dark/light side icing options – adding some extra sprinkles, because Birthday – and we were good to go!

Let’s just say that no cupcake was left behind!

The kids ate them right up and the teachers did too – they definitely made everyone smile and Brooks loved them.

Now I’d love to hear from you – are you into making fun treats? What’s the coolest or most fun birthday treat you’ve ever come up with?! Please share!

20 Questions with my 4 Year Old

With Brooks’ birthday being this week, I thought it would be fun to continue on with my 20 Kid Questions posts! It’s been fun to look back at my 20 questions with Brooks at 2 years old, 2.5 years old and 3 years old. All 3 interviews up to this date are so fun to look back at and compare.

And in true second child fashion, I have done NONE of this with Graham. #momfail – BUT in my defense, Brooks started talking much earlier than Graham did and Graham really just starting getting his serious way with words, so I’m not going to beat myself up over it too much. I did just add to my calendar to interview G at 2.5 years, so we shall see how that goes!

If you don’t see that post sometime in March – someone remind me! Ha!

Back to the birthday boy! My little Brooks is at such a fun age. He loves so many things and wants to go, Go, GO all day long! He can’t sit still! He’s a little TOO obsessed with his iPad, playing video games or watching his favorite shows – that’s pretty much the only things he will sit for! Brooks loves ice cream, Star Wars, Sonic, Big Hero 6 {Baymax} and LOVES playing on my old Wii – we’ve found some really fun retro games that he can’t get enough of! Brooks enjoys playing Soccer Shots every week and loves to score goals. He loves to be outside, he’s a master on his scooter and is great with numbers and letters!

He’s so stinkin’ smart but it’s so much fun to watch him grow, learn and develop – he’s a true big kid these days and loving every minute! Check out our latest interview and let me know what you think!

That Perfect Everyday Lace-Up Hooded Sweatshirt

I’m having a bit of a hard time finding my motivation for style in these cold, winter months. I’m typing this and it’s currently snowing in Philadelphia so you know I’m not joking when I say it’s chilly in Philly!

Not to mention the fact that I’m getting back into the gym more and more each week – Yes, I admit – I’m a bit of a January Joiner – but it’s only because I want to get a head start on getting back in shape for the summer! So most days I wake up and I put on gym clothes and then it’s hard to find time to get changed AGAIN for the day – I barely have time to get dressed each day, don’t even ask about time for a shower!

I have a point and I promise I’m going to make it soon – I’m working on a way to streamline my wardrobe a bit more, making it easier to go from workout to out and about WITHOUT wearing leggings all day. Don’t get me wrong – I love me some black leggings. They are comfortable, you can totally make them look amazing – just for me, I like to challenge myself to actually get dressed and wear all the amazing clothes I have in my closet. Not just the casual workout wear over and over and over again {which I am super tempted to do most days!} I feel better when I am actually dressed – even if it is in just a pair of jeans and a cute sweatshirt.

Eden Sweatshirt / Maika Earrings  / Denim

Did someone say ‘cute sweatshirt‘ because this is it!

I’m COMPLETELY a fan of a piece of clothing like this – especially when it’s casual, comfortable, simple, interesting and pretty much the most perfect wardrobe basic.

This sweatshirt is so effortless and easy to wear. Sure, you can toss it on over a pair of leggings after a workout and look put together – because its a hooded sweatshirt, so it totally makes sense. But it’s also the perfect addition to anyone’s closet. I love it in my #momlife because its easy to wear around town, chasing after the boys – but it’s also a super cute top you can wear out to brunch on the weekend while being cozy and cute at the same time.

And did I mention how soft it is? Because its amazing.

I love adding a piece of clothing like this to my closet – because its a neutral and a basic that can go with so many different pieces for various occasions, but it has the beautiful lace up detail down the side, making it interesting and a unique piece to wear.

I love neutrals like this because it’s fun to add additional color or pattern pops elsewhere in the look – like on a fun Apple Watch strap or a cool pair of floral high tops!

Floral Apple Watch Band {under $12!} /  arm party

// floral high tops {under $25!}

Floral is my love language, and I’m not mad about it.

So there you have it – I just HAD to share with you my love for this cozy piece. It’s seriously a fun top you can add to your closet and wear for each season!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this sweatshirt! Let me know if you love it as much as I do!

Friday Favorites: Black + Blush Workout Wear {Getting Back to the Gym}

So like the rest of the world, I have decided to get back into my workout routine in the New Year – but I didn’t really decide on it until mid-January, so this is totally still my free trial month!
After the craziness of the holidays, sleep issues with the boys {which are “fingers crossed” starting to get better}, our trip to Disney  – things were just starting to get all sorts of crazy. My health and fitness regimen was non-existent. But it’s one of those things that when you really start to miss it, you know you need it and then you make time for it. That’s what happened to me this time.
I’m not doing any sort of group, or plan {even though I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Tone It Up series I participated in last year. I’ve just been changing my eating habits, going to the gym and getting it done. I know what to do, it’s just a matter of doing it.
Completely easier said than done. But it feels really good.
Today I wanted to do a little round-up of the cool workout wear I’m totally inspired by at the moment. I am feeling my gym clothes need a little refresh, so I am keeping my eye on a few of these pieces for when I feel the need to treat myself. As you can see from the photo above, I’m a huge fan of tops with fun backs – the ones below are totally my style.
And I am DYING for those blush pink kicks. Seriously.
Not to mention, everyone needs a good gym tote + wet bag. I love gym bags that don’t scream that it’s a gym bag, ya know?
And I’m sure you can see my very serious #allblackeverything color palate, with pops of blush pink because, blush pink. I love wearing all black with some heathering or fun textures, like the beautiful mesh details – I’m into it.

one / two / three / four / five / six / seven / eight / nine

So I hope you enjoy my bringing back the Friday Favorites to the blog, and my workout wear post! I’d love to hear if you have a favorite place to shop for gym clothes – I’m always on the lookout for cool spots to shop!
Happy Friday + I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
